ISO 9001 Consulting for Small Manufacturers
One consultant, start to finish. A system written around how your facility already works, from the machines to maintenance to the front office. We stay until you pass.
What you get
- A gap analysis with a written roadmap. Clause-by-clause findings, prioritized actions, and a real budget before you commit to anything bigger.
- A quality manual and procedures written for your shop. Plain English, sized for your headcount. Not a template with your logo pasted on it.
- Process mapping done where the work happens. Production, inspection, purchasing, calibration, preventive maintenance. We document what actually goes on, then fix what needs fixing.
- Internal audit and management review, run with your team so they can run it without us next year.
- Registrar selection help and audit support. We've been on every side of that table. No surprises.
- Corrective action support until the certificate is in your hand.
The four steps
Week 1-2
Gap Analysis
Fixed price, $1,000-$2,500. Written report in five business days.
Months 1-3
Build
Documentation, training, records. Weekly working sessions. We do most of the writing.
Month 3-4
Audit-Ready
Internal audit, management review, dry-run audit with findings closed.
Certification
Certify
Stage 1 and Stage 2 support. Nonconformities answered fast.
The guarantee, in plain words: if the registrar finds nonconformities, we help you close them at no extra consulting fee. We stay until you pass.
Who this is for, and who it isn't
A fit if you are:
- A manufacturer or manufacturing service, roughly 5-100 people
- Chasing a contract or customer that requires ISO 9001
- Able to give us a point person for a few hours a week
Not a fit if you want:
- A certificate without a working system. Registrars catch it, and so do your customers
- A 500-page binder to impress auditors. Auditors flag bloat as a weakness now
- Somebody to blame instead of a system that works
Common questions
How much does ISO 9001 certification cost?
Three buckets: consulting, registrar fees, and your internal time. We publish honest ranges on the cost page. Gap analysis is $1,000-$2,500 fixed. Implementation gets a firm quote after the gap analysis, because pricing it before we've seen your gaps would be a guess.
How long does it take?
Most small shops are audit-ready in about four months. Shops with a decent documentation base can move faster. It stretches when quality is nobody's day job, which is the exact problem a fractional quality manager solves.
Do we really need a consultant?
Not always. Plenty of shops self-implement with a template kit and a year of evenings. A consultant makes sense when you have a deadline, when nobody in the building has hosted an audit, or when the owner's time is worth more than the fee. If you don't need us, we'll tell you on the first call.
